The History of Vibrations Recordings
My dreams of building my own studio started by being fortunate enough to have been born to a first generation Italian-American musical family on the outskirts of NYC, my old "stompin' grounds". From elementary school on up, my folks allowed our bands to practice and rehearse in the basement, garage and backyard.
I began by playing the accordion and quickly switched to guitar to get the girls, of course. I always ended up as the band sound guy as well. My first endeavor in recording was with an old Sony reel to reel , making a tape of our small trio that we submitted to The Ted Mack Amateur Hour. We never heard back from them. From that tape machine I moved up to the big time with a Tascam PortaStudio, sheer bliss at the time!
Many musical and other life events later my dreams of building a studio of my own came true when my wife said 'why don't you build one?" What a doll! She had no idea! I don't think I did either! I dove into endless construction and soon realized I was in over my head. I had the luck of hiring Rod Gervais of Sound Solutions to design my rooms and provide support as I built the studio to his fine specifications. Fifteen years later, thanks to the generous help from Kyle G., numerous other friends, family, and community businesses, it became a reality with the launch of Vibrations Recordings.
Living in an extremely rural setting of Northern Maine, we're surrounded by its natural beauty as well as a bounty of talented artists and musicians. I imagined the opportunity to give back to my community, especially to our area youth who may not have otherwise have access or ability to achieve their musical goals. My parents gave me the chance and now it's my mission to pass that on. Our goal is to make this an easy, comfortable and enjoyable experience for all.
